Back in Action? Not quite but almost!

Walking and a light jog is now an easy task for me. I don't really feel any pain when I bend my knee. I'm working on getting my flexibility back and strengthening my legs as they both have become weak in the past 10 months. I am able to shift stances and do basic kicks. In the last few weeks I have done several demos with my chuks. It was a great feeling to be back out there.

On another note… David Chen, the doctor who worked on my injuries with his specialized form of Asian physical therapy, recently worked on Jet Li.

Matthew James Emig was born July 9th, 1987 in Port Jefferson, New York. By the age of three, he had already found his calling: to be a Ninja Turtle. Emig would spend entire days watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle episodes. His living room was transformed into a dojo where he practiced the moves that he saw Splinter and the Turtles use as they fought to defend Manhattan. As Emig grew older, he became aware of the sad truth that he couldn't be a turtle and he would never face Shredder and the Foot Clan in battle. Sammy Smith is 11 years old from Dix Hills, New York. She has been training in the martial arts for the last seven and a half years in Kenpo Karate at Busto's Karate in Plainview, New York. Unlike many kids her age Sammy trains everyday sometimes two to two and a half hours on her various martial arts talents. Sammy is a well-traveled young martial artist. She has been to countries such as Canada and has traveled to many of the respective states within the US. She was also the youngest member of Team US, a group of martial arts competitors, who were invited to St. Petersburg, Russia in 2008.
